Dinsmore, Donald W. 88 Feb. 20, 1925 Sept. 17, 2013 Donald W. Dinsmore passed away on Sept. 17, at age 88. Donald was born on Feb. 20, 1925, in Portland to Sterling and Isabelle Dinsmore. He was raised and educated in Portland and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Donald was married to Marion Olson on Nov. 25, 1947 in Portland. He attended Vanport College and later graduated from Oregon College of Education in Monmouth in 1952. Donald taught elementary education at the Brooklyn, Chief Joseph and Woodlawn Schools in Portland for many years. He later received his master's in History from the University of Portland, where he was curator of the school's museum. He retired in 2009. Donald was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post #98. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marion; children, Michael, Patrick, Kevin, Paul, Rebecca and Matthew Dinsmore; sister, Phyllis Devitt; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral gathering for Donald will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Hustad Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery. www.hustadfuneralhome.com. |
