Black and white image of entire International Night performance groups. Judge Kenneth Hamm sits front and center in his Kiltie Band uniform. The back reads; International Night was Rock Springs' civic celebration of ethnic diversity. It was performed annually from 1924 through 1928, and revived for the State Centennial in 1990. The evening featured costumed performers depicting all the nationalities represented among Rock Springs residents. The finale involved performers lighting candles one from another as the repeated the words, "As lights begets light, so love begets love around the world," in their own languages. |
